# \[CALIFORNIA USERS\] Regarding Age verification on Vincent OS

As you may known the [California Government pass a law](https://legiscan.com/CA/text/AB1043/id/3269704) that requires OS providers to put a age verification for the creation of a user.

Vincent OS is a Linux Distribution based on Arch Linux made in France, therefore, even if the operating system is under EUPL-1.2 | GPL-3, legally, it is governed by the French law (loi Informatique et Libertés) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

> **Vincent OS will not asking for any age verification because this information is not necessary to the function of the operating system.**

No action is required on your part, you can continue to use Vincent OS as usual.
